Messages for the commemorative book:
We ask for all our of members to help get announcements or messages for our
Commemorative Book that is planed to be published for the 20th
Anniversary in October. Please hand in all ads by the end of June. The
prices of ads are the following: Entire page (8x11) $300; half page $175;
quarter of page $100; one third of a page $50.00; name in the list of
sponsors $25.00. We are also looking if members would be able to arrange
some announcements of commercial houses or organizations of your local
zones, as well as personal messages of members and friends would also be
appreciated.
Members picnic – Sunday July 20th:
Our annual members picnic will
be held on July 20th at 1:00 p.m. at our community center. The
menu consists of: Sardines, grilled chicken, feijoada, corn on the cob,
french fries, hamburgers and hot dogs, watermelon, a barrel of beer, wine,
soda and water. During the picnic there will be a tournament of Sueca and
Domino and the five-year member pins ceremony. Also during this event our
annual donations will be made to local charity organizations. All members
who would like to attend may pick up tickets at the club and register. If
some members are not able to come to pickup their tickets, please call
before July 14th to reserve your spot. The cost of tickets for
non-members is $20 and $10 for children under the age of 10. Members are
invited at no cost.
Bullfights in Canada:
Victor Santos is organizing its
annual excursion to the Bullfights in Canada. Included will be a supper on
Friday; bullfights on Saturday and Sunday; Cantoria and Desgarradas; an
outdoors mass; a small lunch every day and a farewell supper. There are a
limited number of seats. For reservations and details call Victor Santos at

2008 St. Vincent Feast:
Our annual St. Vincent Feast
will be held September 1-7. This year at our Thursday dinner, Mr. António
Mendes of Santa Barbara will be honored and will be followed by the Group of
Violas. We will have some guests of honor this year and the subject of the
“Bodo de Leite” will be "G.A.T., 20 years of culture and charity". We ask
for all of our members to buy a book of raffle tickets and to return to your
donations and coupon stubs from the raffle back to the club. If you would
not like to buy or sell the raffle tickets, please return them. Also we
need, as always, articles for our bazaar.
Golf Tournament, September 14th:
As part of the celebrations of
our Twentieth Anniversary, we will be having a Golf Tournament at the
Crystal Lake Golf Club in Harrisville, Rhode Island. The cost is $125 per
player and includes 18 holes of golf, prizes from a raffle; awards for the
best players and a supper with beer. For registrations, please call: (401)

Celebrations of the Organization’s Twentieth
Anniversary:
The Board of
Directors are planning some cultural events between October 5-15 including,
the Night of Gala - the Anniversary date of October 11th. All members will
receive a program as soon as everything is confirmed.
